Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Landlord intrusion

I just moved out of my last apartment that I rented from an old couple. It was basically half of their back house( it was a two bedroom) A few months back I was gone for a few weeks and prior to me leaving they asked if someone can stay in my place when I was gone. I said no but when I returned I notice signs of someone else there. The landlord admitted to cleaning out my fridge and cleaning my sheets. I wrote them a letter expressing my concerns and how they violated my rental agreement and california rights. I also told them to stay out of my space. Since then there has been numerous amounts of times they have entered but I cant prove it except for that one and another incident. I was on a month to month lease and they gave me my 60 day notice because they wanted to rent out the whole back house and was doubling the rent. So I moved out. Can I still sue them for landlord intrusion and what else can I possible sue for? And what would be a reasonable amount?

Re: Landlord intrusion

If you received back your full security deposit, count your blessings and move on. I wouldn't think it's worth the trouble and time to pursue the invasion of privacy and trespass claims.
