the owner of our apartment complex had made an oral agreement with us obout the past due rents and payment of them he also said that any and all arrangements made at that time wold be honored when the newmanagement company took over thathe hired yet that wnas not been the case not only did a payment made towards what was owed not be deducted from amout the management company has filed a unlawful detainer as wel as reused to except the payments as was agreed on by owner what should i do

Contact the owner directly and remind him of your agreement. The management company is his agent, and will do what he says. The problem is that you didn't get anything in writing. You might be out of luck if he doesn't remember the arrangement. You can try to defend yourselves by denying that you owe anything. At trial you could bring your rent checks and receipts to show that the owner accepted payments for a long time according to the agreement, and that the management company is breaching the agreement.
