Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

What are my rights?

My landlord did not perform an inspection with me present. He did not do an inital inspection before I moved out. He only came to inspect the property after I moved. He did not do a walk through or any thing. Then sends me a letter notifing me that I will not recive all of my security deposit back. I belive I left that home in better condition than I recived it. What are my rights?

File an action in small claims court.

If you took photos, you can use them as evidence in your small claims lawsuit against your former landlord. Also eyewitness testimony would help. Good luck.
