Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Does taping a note on the door of an apartment suffice as "legal notification" by a landlord that a rule is changing at a rental complex? What does? Is there a law that applies to this?

It's not the best method, obviously, but it's one method.

Usually, the best method is by personal delivery to the tenant or another adult in the household. If that is not possible, then posting and mailing is the other.

Now, if you violate the rule, you do so at your peril.
