Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Unhappy with paint/changed the locks

Prior to moving in my apt, i asked the owner if i could paint my apt a brown. Owner said fine as long as it was a light color. I have never painted before, so when i applied the paint it was light but when it dried. It was like 3-4 shades darker. The maint. Crew came to repair a light in my daughters rm. I was not home nor was the mgr to let them in, so they climbed thru a bdrm window to gain access to my apt. When they got in they noticed the paint change and called the owner. The owner told them to change the locks until he spoke with me. I am in a 9 month lease and have barely been in the unit 1 wk. The maint crew also told the owner that the carpet had paint on it and now he is sending over a carpet crew thurs to replace the entire carpet because he said that slimple cleaning the carpet wont fix the prblm. Yet, i feel as though replacing the carpet is a bit drastic and it would be simpler just to say ''as long as you return the apartment to the way you moved in it, that is fine.'' i agree after the paint dried it is a bit darker then i expected but yet changing the locks on the apartment because of what one person said is a bit much. Replacing the entire carpet is also a bit much. Fustrated and no malice intended. Please help!!!

He may not change the locks, nor can he enter the property without proper notice.
