Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Unlawful detainer

I received a letter in the mail to appear in court re: unlawful detainer I was not given an option to respond only appear. This was my first time ever being served a unlawful detainer. I appeared in court and my landlord told the judge that he served me a 3-day notice prior to court proceeding. I never received a 3-day notice to move. Prior to this court date , I told the landlord I was moving and I would be out in a week or two at the most. He agreed, then a few days later I received my notice to appear in court. Can I appeal this with the court. The judge awarded the landlord judgement for possession of property. I don't want an unlawful eviction on my record. Also on the day of court I told the judge I had already moved all of my stuff out.

Re: Unlawful detainer

You might contact the landlord's lawyer and work out a stipulation that if you move out by an agreed date, the lawyer would have the court set aside the judgment.
