Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

''Ambulance Chaser'' Lawyers really exist?

Almost 3 years ago I placed a question on this site regarding a personal injury accident. The question was pulled from this site and I was

contacted by the Law firm. Not knowing after 2 years the attorney referred by this firm would withdraw from case! Now I need to find another attorney to represent me. The attorney lied to the Judge about his reasons for his withdraw. The attorney also stated that he's already spent $600.00 on my case. Can someone please tell me that there is some kind of recourse. thank you

If the $600 is in question and you're obligated to pay the attorney the money, you can demand an accounting from the attorney. Obviously, you can't force someone to do work for you if they don't want to. However, the attorney cannot leave you in a position where you're immediately prejudiced and your case is damaged. Make sure to check the court's web site to see if there are any upcoming dates, and find another attorney to assist you if you want to pursue the matter.
