Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California
my friend/coworker on facebook (I have complete privacy setting, so only friends can see) copied and presented my venting about work to the superintendent. I mentioned no names, not even where I worked in my venting. Now the superintendent wants to talk to me about it Do I have any recourse with the co-worker and/or the superindent? btw I work for the state of Calif.

State employees have many rights including your union's collective bargaining Memorandum of Understanding and provisions of state law that provide for due process of law when imposing discipline. I doubt the State could discipline someone in state service -- bring them up on formal charges -- for the types of comments you described. Consult your union rep or an attorney with experience in Skelly hearings.
