Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

I was in a car accident and was having trouble with my back. I went to the chiropractor and he cracked my back it felt better. I came back to the doctor and his time he placed his knee in my back and I heard it pop, this time I was in terrible pain. I could not lay down in my bed so I tried placing a board between the mattresses, it did not work. I went back to the doctor and he wanted to place his knee in my back again and I stopped him. He left the room and told one of the nurses that "sometime I get them in like this" he was angry. I am now sleeping on the floor and cannot sleep in the bed. I went back to my lawyer and told him that I really needed to change my doctor and he stated "if you do it will just prolong your suite and you would have to start over. Can I get another attorney? Why can't I change doctors? Is it legal advice that my attorney giving me??

You should definitely go to another doctor if the doctor you have isn't helping you and is in fact hurting you. I would be very concerned if a doctor hurt my back with his knee. And I would be even more concerned if my lawyer told me to stay with the doctor that hurt my back with his knee, especially because he wants to do it again. It's a medical opinion you need, not a legal one.
