felony conviction

I have a friend signing up for the air force she has a felony conviction I have been told by other people that they went through boot camp just to get kicked out of the army for past criminal records is this true?

The question here is whether the Air Force knew about the felony at the time of enlistment. If the service did not know of it at the time of enlistment, more than likely the soldier will be removed from the service. On the other hand, they may have given her a waiver at the time of enlistment because of the severe shortage or available personnel.
