Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Accident Repair Receipt

My car was recently hit by a girl who begged me not to contact her insurance company. I got an estimate for repair and made a contract for payment. She paid but now is wants for a receipt of repair, saying she wants to know where her money has gone. I can't be without my car right now, so haven't got it fixed yet. Am I responsible for providing this to her? And is there a time period in which I am legally responsible to get my car repaired?

Re: Accident Repair Receipt

You could give her a receipt for the money she gave you showing the date and amount and a copy of your repair estimate. You don't have to fix the car within any certain time period but there is a statute of 3 years within which you have to settle for all PD matters or file a lawsuit.
