Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

My car got repo. So the following week I went to pick it up at this auction lot where they had it. And when I picked it up, everything look good. but after like seven or ten minutes when I left da lot, the left side mirror fell of and it was just hanging from the wire. So I called the repo company an they told me that when. They drop it of the auction lot it was in good condition. So then I called the auction where they had my car, and they are just telling me to reported to my insurance. But I don't think I should reported to my insurance because they broke my mirror while it was in there posation. And that mirror Coust like hundred and something dollars or probably more, because it's a automatic mirror that it closes and opens automatically. So what should I do?

I just installed an outside front door mirror for $40 and $25 labor. Each one in your case will blame the other and it is not worth the time, energy, and money to go after them, especially you can not prove if it was the repo guy, his boss, some kid on the street just before the car was repoed, etc.
