The league can always be sued the question is will a suit be successful.The next consideration is what caused the the hypothetical accident.If the driver caused the accident and the driver was known to be a negligent operator then yes a suit might be successful.It also depends on the nature of the relationship of the driver to the league.If he was an employee then yes.There are a lot of variables that are not disclosed that are necessary to fully address your concerns.
