proper service in california

I am being sued if I dont except the service and do not touch the service papers can that still be consider being served.. Small Claims

Yes. Touching the service papers has nothing to do with it. It is a common misperception from TV.

If you do not want to touch the papers, they can be dropped at your feet or posted on the door.

Usually, trying to avoid service doesn't really achieve the purpose. If the plaintiff doesn't achieve in-person service service by mail or by publication will have the same effect eventually, so it's better to just go ahead with the process and handle the claim.
