I agree with my namesake there, you have a real uphill battle on your own. The store won't take you seriously if you don't have a lawyer backing you up.

Your question is too general to answer without knowing more about your case. The most important questions in slip & fall cases are:

#1: How bad is the injury? Did you go to the emergency room? Have you been treating consistently since then?

#2: Was it the store's fault and can you prove it? What made you fall? How long was it there? Did the store's employees put it there?
