Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I have a ticket for not having a motorcycle license when I wrecked. no one else was involved. I am in Singapore for work and was denied the ability to put of my court date until I get back in a year. can I appoint a legal proxy?

For at least some of the hearing you could, but it would have to be your attorney. If you are not disputing the validity of the ticket [if you are not licensed to drive a motorcycle, unless there is some good reason, you will automatically lose]. The normal process in Traffic Court is your going to the initial hearing where you can demand a trial or plead guilty and the judge or traffic commissioner may reduce the fine. You or your attorney representative probably will not be allowed to say much if anything. If the fine is a few hundred dollars, it will cost you more to hire an attorney than he/she could get the fine reduced by.
