No certificate of Occupancy Retalitory Unlawful Detainer

owner of residential home, modified home to be 6 individual rental units.would not fix my unit,Dec.I withheld my rent.Called city inspector, inspector sent owner notice of violation to fix electric,kitchen,provide heat,(with valid permits).found out from zoning kitchen in my unit was modified into a kitchen without permit, and was permitted to be a laundry room Landlord does not have permit of occupancy.He is now got me in an UD suit, has harrassed me, called police, made false police report, pugered himself in the UD documentation. I want all my money back that he fraudulantly took from me, he never had the intention to fix anything.was informed that when we go to court on the UD that the judge's attention ,we will have a very limited time to move out....the city cannot assist me with relocation payments becuase of illegal renting...please give me some advice. Thank you

The landlord has some serious problems. How long have you been renting this unit? Have you filed an answer to the UD? Do you have a written lease agreement? You may need to file a counter suit for the unearned rent that you paid.
