Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

co-borrower

In 2003 my father wanted to purchase a motor home to live in on my property. At the time his FICO score was over 800 but the RV dealer said he would need a co-borrower because he would not outlive the loan, he was 77 at the time of purchase. I co-signed for the loan. Since then I have heard that it is illegal to discriminate against anyone because of age. Is this true, and if it is how do I get off this loan? In the three years we have had the coach we have never been late with a payment. Just being on this loan drops my FICO down a deep well... Thanks in advance for any insight

Re: co-borrower

That is a very interesting question, however, you may have an issue with the statute of limitations on a claim of discriminatory lending practices. I don't practice in that area, and would suggest that the best place to post this question is probably on creditboards.com, or find an attorney by looking at those who post to creditlawnetwork.com. Good luck, I think you may be on the right track, but you need to discuss it with someone who practices in the area of discriminatory or predatory loan practices.
