Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I own a condo, i fell behind on my home owners association and was sent to an attorneys office for collection i contacted them numerous times to figure out some kind of payment plan. the told me they would stop any more charges or fee since i was working with them. they never contacted me with payment options and overtime i call them the y never returned my call. now i got a letter that they got a lien. pls help what should i do

Your situation has a mild odor about it, suggesting a law office that is not trying as hard as it should to carry out a boring and probably low-paying task. It should not be hard to negotiate and settle a dispute of this kind, and it sounds to me as though you are doing your part. You probably need to do two things: (1) keep pushing to get a payment plan in place, and (2) accept the fact that the HOA has the power, right, etc. to place a lien on your property and, if and when they decide, to enforce the lien and foreclose on you.
