A demand to close escrow is not served. It is merely delivered. Generally the contract will specify the method of delivery. If it is silent the normal practice would be to deliver it in person or by fax to the buyer's agent. If the buyer has no agent, it's probably best to hand deliver it or fax it if either of those is possible. If not, FedEx or some other method of overnight delivery requiring a signature would be best.
