Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

We have family property that was inherited by my cousins they want to add my brother and I to the ownership how can we do this without re assessing the property there will be no money exchanging.

THere is no exemption applicable to such a transfer. The portion transferred will likely be reassessed. This is a change of ownership
