Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I am currently in a home that was transferred from my landlord to the bank August 6, 2009. I am not paying any rent and have not been contacted by the bank whatsoever. The only notice was and auction notice on August 4, 2009. I am waiting to receive a 90 notice, or some type of notice asking for rent, etc. The house is listed for auction everymonth, on the banks web site, however I don't see it selling and everymonth they just extend the date. Am I correct in just saving my money and waiting get a notice to vacate? Or is there some action they can take against me for back rent, etc.?

Lucky you. Sometimes these banks lose track of their property in the computer. Recommend you continue saving your money. They may file an eviction (unlawful detainer) case at any time, if that happens settle with them for whatever you can get as "key money." Be sure to get everything in writing signed by an authorized officer of the bank so they can't renege on the deal.
