Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Mom passed this past February With Cancer. I have lived here with her and her husband for many years. Mom and husband assured me the house wouldn't be put up for sale after she was gone. This past weekend he packed up and left to go out of state to be with his children and family. I called and he was there. HE has had the cable for the TV cancelled. The internet and phone will be shut off on Monday. And when I spoke with him he informed me the Water will be shut in 30 days. The house will be put up for sale. Would have been fine had he let me prepare for this financially. Never thought he would do this. What rights do I have living here. Also there's no will, Nothing left to me.That im aware of.Can he do this legally. Thank you Rebecca.
