Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Real Salesperson in California

I'm a salesperson for Keller Williams. Instead of using my name, John Smith, to market my real estate business, could I apply for a fictitious business name at the county clerk office and market myself as 'Smith Real Estate' instead?
