Self Representation on summons

Does ''discovery'' apply if a defendant represents himself in a lawsuit in Las Vegas, Nevada?

If the lawsuit is in a Nevada state court, Nevada state law (not California law) would govern.

If the lawsuit is in the United States District Court in Las Vegas, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure would apply, and yes, those rules extend the same discovery privileges and duties to self-represented parties as they do to parties represented by counsel.
