I was wondering if you can re-finance your house after you file chapter 11 or 13

bankruptcy. If so, how long do you have to wait before you can do that...

With Chapter 11 or 13, the debtor must comply with the reorganization plan. As long as you are complying with the plan, and have a lender willing to refinance, there is no problem.

FHA just lowered the time after bankruptcy which they will consider lending after Chapter 13. It dropped from 2 to 1 year.
