Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Four years ago my brother gave me a car. Unfortunately, we did not transfer the Title to me, the car is in my brother's name. I need to transfer the title to my name however my brother will not cooperate. He will not send the Title or sign a Lost Title Search. I need the Title to my car. What are my options given my brother's refusal to cooperate?

If he refuses to cooperate, the only way you can obtain title to the car is to sue him for an injunction requiring him to accomodate the transfer. Barring that, there is no procedure in California for transferring a car without the owner's consent unless the owner is dead or legally incapable of providing that consent.
