Re: ssi benefits

It is possible. It depends on when she was denied and how late she is. Social Security claimants have sixty (60) days to file an appeal. It is either a Request for Reconsideration or a Request for Hearing. I assume she has not had a hearing yet. I have been successful in obtaining an extension to file for the late Appeal. We must demonstrate "Good Cause" and if we can do this, she may be able to file a late appeal. I assume she was requesting SSI benefits for disability. Please feel free to contact my office personally and I can anwswer any questions. I do not charge for consultations. I would only receive a fee if I were to take the case and win. This is called a contingency. I cannot charge a fee for consultations. Even if we can't get an extension, she can always re apply. This, of course, would start the entire process all over again. She would lose a few months time in awaiting her benefits, but if she re spplies, she can still use the same "onset date", so her benefits would be the same monthly amount. If it is SSI and not SSDI, her benefits would start from the date of her application. Please contact me my email or call my office directy if you should have any questions.
