Tax lein statute of limitations?
Is there a statute of limitations on Calif and fed tax owed? How do I get the IRS to collect from my ex wife (tax accountant) who prepared and filed the joint return?

yes there is a time limit, but it is very complicated; generally ten years from assesment but can be continued for many reasons. There are ways to address the spousal issue. www.taxworkout.com.
