Re: Driving with Out a License

If you have a driver's license take it to court with you and show it to the court. Unless the DMV revoked or suspended your license and mailed notice to you, the driving with a suspended license should be either amended to driving without a valid license or dismissed.

If your license was suspended you should request a continuance to allow you to cure the problem and obtain a valid driver's license. Normally you would then pay a small fine.

Your porblem may be in regard to the damages resulting from the accident. The insurance on the rental car may not cover you if you did not have a valid driver's license. However, if you had insurance on a car you owne or drive regularly that may cover you.

Retaining an attorney to represent you would be prudent.
