Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

***Illegal alien caught driving without a CALIFORNIA driver's license***

I got a traffic violation ticket showing a 12500 (A) unlicensed driver description. It also shows not correctable and it's infraction. The car was towed immediately. I showed my international driver's license but the cop said they do not recognize it.

What will happen if I appear in court by myself?

Are there any immigration implications?

Will I go to jail or be deported?

If you live in another country, your international driving license should be valid and accepted here. Unfortunately you have been charged with a crime, so you will need to retain a lawyer and defend the charge. Last one of these I did, I had the client produce his auto insurance and utility bills from home and I was able to persuade the district attorney to drop the charges. I doubt that this charge will itself cause you to be deported, but you must realize you could be deported at any time
