Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

I have a misdemeanor ticket for driving with expired license in L.A. Ca.
unfortunately I have no way to renew it because my turist permit is expired too, currently the charge is a misdemeanor so I want to try to do something to reduce it an infraction because a misdemeanor will affect me considerably in my inmigration procedures, so I wonder if is there any resource or argument I can use to convince the city attorney or judge to reduce this misdemeanor ticket to infraction,this is my first offense and I have a clean record, unfortunately there is no way I can renew my D.L.

Get a lawyer. A misdemeanor is a serious matter and you should have a lawyer to influence the DA and the judge to reduce it to an infraction.
