Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Hello. I received a letter from the Garden Grove police department. It basically says that on 3/3/2010, my vehicle was recorded by photograph and video at a particular intersection failing to stop for a red traffic light. It goes on to say if I don't respond in 15 days then my license will be suspended and they will add a $300 penalty assessment to the citation.

If I had been pulled over by the police for the infraction, they would have made me sign a promise to appear. The red light camera took my picture, but I never signed a promise to appear. How can they suspend my license when I never promised anything?

Also, do you have any knowledge of loop holes in the law I can use to defeat this ticket?

Thank You For Your Time.

Don't contact the police. What you received is not a citation. Your license won't be suspended. For more information go to highwayrobbery.net
