No, the family of decedent is not responsible for credit card debt. The credit card company can only go after some of decedent's assets, depending on how title is being held.

The family could be liable if the creditor can show that the family took some of the assets of the estate without proper notice being first given to the creditor. The family could also be liable if some of the assets were transferred to family members before a decedent's death.
