Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My daughter is her dads next of kin shes 17 yrs old what legal rights does she have to his estate over his brother which is older.

Nobody has a legal right to inherit anything. If the father prepares a valid will he can leave his estate to anybody he wants and legally disinherit his children.

That being said, when someone dies without a will, then there are rules about who inherits the estate property through intestacy. If there is no wife, then children take in equal shares.
