inheritance
A family member is listed as an heir to an estate, part of the inheritance being monetary. Since he has been receiving SSI for approx. 12 years, will the money be taken from him in order to pay back the state?

Receiving an inheritance may make your family member ineligible for SSI. There are ways to deal with this problem. If your family member has a living parent, the parent can set up a Special Needs Trust to hold the inheritance. Please consult an attorney.
