Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I live in CA my grandmother died June 29 th 2009 I have received a partial disbursement from her estate but no accounting and am told I still have more to come what are the legal time frame laws? Is there something that I can reference with out having to pay an attorney? My mother had a massive stroke 3 mothers after my grandmothers death (she was very, very, very upset about the will with no list of assets as my uncle seems to have taken control of all the monies) and I am the only voice she has.
