Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

If a man and woman are in a relationship for 13 years living together in the house the man and his sister owns what happens when the man dies? Does all the personal property inside the home go to deceased sister? Or is the woman who contributed to this household for 13 years entitled to personal property?

None of the property is community property because you were not married. You are entitled to that personal property you can show you payed for to the same ratio as price to your payments. I assume you did not pay anything on the mortgage or repairs, improvements to the house, etc. The burden of proof is on you. If the sister dies after the man, then all the property the sister got goes to her heirs and not you. You largely lose out on the deal.
