Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Mr Jordan I am an only child and my mother lived with her mother and her granddaughter and they will not give me any information. She is not married and I hadn't talked to my mother for a couple of years and they deliberately did not tell me she died because they didn't want me to receive anything. They will not take my calls. I know she had a life insurance policy that was originally made out to me. One of them may even have her power of attorney. I need to get a copy of the will, life insurance policy and death certificate. I just don't know where to look

As far as the death certicate is concerned, contact the county coroner's office and request information on how to order the death certificate.

As for the will and life insurance policy, if your grandmother and daughter will not release the information to you, you may want to hire an attorney to write a letter demanding the information. If that does not work, you may have to file a probate in the county where your mother passed and obtain court authority to obtain the information.
