Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I have a trust that my father left me when he died. I am now 18 and considering an adult adoption (my brother and his wife want to adopt me to help me pay for college as my mother sued me for half of my inheritance and I can no longer afford school). I still have a bit of money in my trust. If we do the adoption will I still be entitled to the remainder my trust as I was named in the will or will I lose it?

I don't think the adoption would affect your right to the remainder of the money which is in trust for you. But I don't understand why your brother would need to adopt you in order to help you out financially. (Not our area of expertise, so you should consult an adoption lawyer and/or someone with expertise in financial aid issues.)
