Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My wife died in 2006 intestate, Parents were deceased and she had no child of her own. But she had three step children(my children) and seven brothers and sisters. What, if any, right do my deceased wife's brothers and sisters have in her personal property? By my best estimate it amounted to less than $30,000 cost.

As you are the surviving spouse and she died intestate, you are the first to receive all of her possessions. They would follow after you.
