Injuried not hired to do

I was hired as auto electrical tech w/very min. general

repair. We are not allowed to refuse work from dispatcher,I continuely was given maint.work which required handling tires(50-100lbs)thus injured back w/numbness to left leg.Can I sue employer? Had physical/bloodwork just prior to injury-passed.Other techs repeatedly refused work.I was told once in awhile I would have to help out and perform work outside of my specialty, more than 50% of jobs were outside of my specialty. thank you,
