Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

I am receiving temp. disability payments from worker's comp. I started to receive early social security check, is it considered money earned for work during the time covered by the check I will be receiving?

It is considered 'income' from another source (not exactly money earned for work, but a form of income).

To avoid BOTH the Comp Insurer AND Social Security finding out you have 'outside' income and cutting off ALL checks until they learn how much you get and why (it's happened to my injured workers before!), you would be wise to address ONE LETTER to both (yup, send two originals, one to each).

Tell the Comp Adjuster you are receiving $X00/month from the Social Security Administration from [DATE BEGAN] to the present, and tell the Soc.Sec.Admin. you have been receiving Temporary Total Disability Indemnity payments from Comp Insurer in the amount of $X00.00/week.

In all likelihood, the TTD Payments will continue in the same amount (because you still can't work for anyone anywhere...yet) and the Social Security Checks will be 'adjusted' (cut) down to the amount that results in you getting the maximum allowable by the Soc. Security administration.
