Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

My uncle has a Workers Comp case and he asked me to go with him to his meeting with his attorney. His lawyer meet with the other party and then talked with my uncle. After the conversation my uncle decided to settle and the lawyer wrote up the agreement. When my uncle's lawyer was going over the paper work with my uncle he said he had to look into something he saw in the paper work. The lawyer said it would take a couple days for him to look into it. About two months have passed and my uncle has tried to contact his lawyer but the lawyer has not contacted him back. He has been trying for the last two weeks, what can my uncle do so his lawyer contacts him and finally settle his case?

Have him e-mail or write the attorney and tell him that he is willing to settle and knows no reason for the delay and the lack of response. If he does not hear from the attorney within 72 hours saying the settlement papers are signed and forwarded to the WC adjuster or a clear explanation why it has not been submitted, then he will hire a different attorney to represent him or just go to the adjuster and settle telling them he is fired [should find out what attorney thought might be wrong].
