Legal Question in Business Law in Canada

Business venture question on use of other businesses name

I was thinking of starting a part time delivery sevice out of my apartment. On my flyers I would like to use the names of companies that I would deliver from. And my question is if I had my own business name and said on the flyer places that we deliver from eg. ''AAA Restaurant'' would it be in my best intrest to put there name on the flyer with out there consent? Becouse I would be endorsing there business as well as bringing them revenue I don't see why they would want to sue, Although some big business might just want to start trouble. What would you recomend?

Re: Business venture question on use of other businesses name

Before using any other business' name, you should obtain permission. The name is likely copyrighted or trademarked and any unauthorized use may lead to criminal and/or civil charges. You may choose your own business name to operate under but you should likely register it to ensure you are not using a name that is already in use by a similar company.
