Legal Question in Immigration Law in Canada

I have a drug possesion charge from 1991. Will I ever be able to travel to the US without a waiver? This occured almost 20 years ago and was the result of a vehicle search. A friend of a friend left his cigarette pack in my glove box containing the offending substance. I wish there was a way I could avoid the embarassment and hassle of the waiver and being pulled aside for secondary questioning every time I cross the border.

You will always need a waiver to travel to the US. Waivers can be issued for one to five years.
