As noted on the LawGuru website, questions directed to this lawfirm must have a British Columbia connection and it is understood that by directing a question to this lawfirm, it has one; answers are with reference to British Columbia law. In BC there is no such thing as G1 licence; in BC, generally you may sue if the other driver was wholly or partly at fault and both of you were not driving for work purposes. If one of you was driving for work purposes, you may elect to sue or apply for WCB benefits; if neither of you was driving for work purposes, you may sue but can not claim WCB benefits; if both of you were driving for work purposes, you may not sue, but must claim WCB benefits, unless WCB grants permission to sue. This is general advice, and there are exceptions. Please see a lawyer for advice specific to your situation.
