Legal Question in Personal Injury in Canada

Personal Injury lawsuit due to Drunk Driver

It's been 9years in the gathering stages of my husbands lawsuit after doctors, lawyer, ins, mounds upon mounds of papers...he was hit by a drunk driver, we don't even know if that man was charged. Anyway they went to Discovery once (2 years ago) & twice, the defendants lawyer didn't have all the papers so they post poned it (that was a year + ago) now they are going to Discovery again soon, is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Could the settlement be close after that or are we in for an even longer ride? Is there a cap on how long a case can go for? It would be nice for this all to be over... Any thoughts would be great..

Re: Personal Injury lawsuit due to Drunk Driver

Unfortunately you did not advise in what Province and city the incident occurred, and as the procedure varies from Province to Province, and even with Provinces, access to the Courts varies due to factors such as the volume of cases, availability of judges & court staff and other factors, we can not answer the question. If the crash took place in B.C. we can likely advise you.
