Your lawyer may have deducted his fees, taxes and the disbursements he loaned you from what ICBC paid and is now waiting for the Costs assessed to be dealt with. They often take a very long time. Your lawyer is entitled to pay himself the money he loaned you and his fees (and taxes) from the first payment, but you should see another lawyer to clarify if this is what has occurred. Your other lawyer can request an accounting from the first lawyer.
