Can the executor of my will be held resposible for debts I have incurred, if there is no money in the estate

In British Columbia, no, so long as there has been no fraudulent transfer of assets by you. Fraudulent transfer of assets (or fraudulent preferences) are specific situations convered in the legislation. For one example, if you transfer an asset intending to make it secure from your creditors being able to seize it, that is fraudulent.
